WHO In-country Fellowship Program on Health Management and Financing, 04-16 August, 2014


WHO India Country Office approached the Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Jaipur to design and conduct WHO In-country Fellowship Program on Health Management and Financing of 2-week duration. IIHMR Jaipur – a WHO collaborating centre for district health system based on primary health care – agreed to design and conduct the fellowship program. The program enabled the participants to discuss current and future challenges in a setting that provides a rare and unique opportunity to interact with subject experts. The major objective of the program is to better understand the health management and financing. This course is designed to help the participants better understand various concepts, frameworks and issues involved in Health Management and Financing. The course covers the Fundamentals of Health Care Delivery System, Health Policy/NRHM, Health Economics and Financing, Strategic Management for Health Programme Management and Evaluation, Analytical and Computer Skills. The participants reviewed the selected papers on health systems, quality management, patient satisfaction, health insurance, financing, and gain better understanding on issues and challenges in broad areas of health management and financing. The course was coordinated by Dr. P.R. Sodani and Dr. Alok Mathur
