Admission Announces for Ph.D. Programme

IIHMR University announces Ph.D. Admission open for the session 2015. It is a doctoral program in the health sector with a multidisciplinary focus. The areas of research include public health, health and hospital management, nursing management, pharmaceutical management, population and reproductive health, health economics and finance, urban health, rural health, health nutrition, health communication and behaviour change, information technology in the health sector, health systems and related areas.


OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
The Ph.D. Program broadly aims at building and strengthening research capacity in the management of health care in order to improve the standards of health of people through accessible, affordable and equitable health services. The following are the objectives of the proposed program:
  1. 1. Building capacity in research to strengthen health systems through enhanced efficiency and effectiveness, developing evidence based policies, strategies and interventions in the health sector.
  2.  Developing high quality human resources for conducting management research in health care in the area of policy, strategy and program management, and evaluation.
  3. Developing outstanding academicians and management professionals for higher level management teaching and research in postgraduate institutions, universities, health care industry, and government and consulting organizations.

Admission Process : The admission process will include three steps: Screening of applications, IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT) and Personal Interview.

IIHMR Research Aptitude Test (IRAT): The IIHMR University will conduct a Research Aptitude Test for eligible candidates. IRAT will be a written test consisting of multiple choice questions testing candidates’ English language proficiency, reasoning, basic quantitative analysis and research aptitude.
Exemption from IRAT : UGC / CSIR qualified JRF & NET in Management or related subjects; Senior health professionals and teaching faculty in government/private sector with experience of 10 years or above
