
The IIHMR University has been established by Government of Rajasthan vide the IIHMR University Ordinance, 2013 (Ordinance No 30 of 2013) promulgated on September 27,2013 by the Governor which was replaced by the IIHMR University Act, 2014 (Act No.3, of 2014) passed by the State Legislature on February 07, 2014. The Act of 2014 received the assent of the Governor on 25th day of February, 2014 and was finally notified in Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary on February 26,2014.

Ganpati Utsav : Blessings of the all
Mighty:
The Afternoon of Monday, September 9th was filled
with enthusiasm for the entire campus as it was time for the traditional
‘Ganpati-Sthapna’ on the Occasion of Ganesh- Chaturthi. There was music all
over and exhilaration to invigorate the feeling of Bhakti amongst all present
there. Lord Ganesh was Invited and
established in the boys common room, popularly known as BCR.
The 13th day of September was the day for
‘Visarjan’ and the final offerings and prayers. ‘Prasad Vitaran’ was followed
by the traditional offerings and the final ‘Yatra’ to the Amer Fort Kund. With
Cries of inviting Ganpati early next year, everyone took part in the Visarjan
and requested the blessings of Lord Ganesh, the god of wisdom and prosperity.

CME: Continuing Medical Education: mdp at IIHMR,
Jaipur
(9th-10th
September)
Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR),
Jaipur organized a management development programme on ‘Continuing Medical Education’
(CME) on Food Fortification for Medical Officers of the Department of Medical
and Health, Government of Rajasthan to orient and sensitize them on food
fortification programme and related issues.
The MDP was spread over a period of two days from
September 9th to September 10th, 2013 and proved out to
be a uniquely beneficial experience to the participants due to its carefully
designed structure.

Laurels at National Level By Students of IIHMR, Jaipur
Two students of IIHMR, Jaipur namely Dr. Kriti Tambi and Mr.
Ashish Agarwal, stood second at the ‘National Summer Training Presentation
Contest’ held at JK Laxmipat Singhania University, Jaipur on September 21st,
2013.
The contest had a large number of Participants from some of
the most reputed institutions of the Nation including IIM, Bnaglore and FMS,
Delhi etc. The students gave a presentation on ‘Market Feasibility Study for an
Upcoming Cancer Care Hospital’. The students received a Standing Ovation and
the jury suggested that their study could be considered as an ‘Ideal Study’.

Health Service (IIM –Ahemdabad) Visits IIHMR, Jaipur
Professor
V.K. Ramani, a world renowned Public health expert and professor at Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad Visited IIHMR, Jaipur and addressed the
Faculty on ‘Issues of Management
and Governance in the Indian Health Systems’. A prolific and
convincing speaker, Dr Ramani enlightened the gathering by presenting relevant
facts and laid immense stress on the issue of the Government taking over the
complete responsibility of its people’s health.
Dr. Ramani’s vast experience and Ph.D in operations management enables
him to not only analyze the prevailing health scenario in the nation but also
to be able to suggest remedies. According to Dr. Ramani, the biggest challenge
that our nation is facing in the field of health systems is the understanding
of needs of the common people along with an increase in the investments in the
health sector.
