The IIHMR University has been established by Government of Rajasthan vide the IIHMR University Ordinance, 2013 (Ordinance No 30 of 2013) promulgated on September 27,2013 by the Governor which was replaced by the IIHMR University Act, 2014 (Act No.3, of 2014) passed by the State Legislature on February 07, 2014. The Act of 2014 received the assent of the Governor on 25th day of February, 2014 and was finally notified in Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary on February 26,2014.

“In order to address the sharp decline in the Child Sex ratio in the State as revealed by the Census 2011 figures , Rajasthan Government has announced the development of a State Girl Child Policy in May 2012. The State Government constituted a Task force with Department of Women and Child Development as the convening department for the formulation of the Girl Child Policy. On the basis of the announcement, the draft State Girl Child Policy was developed by the Government with inputs from various Government departments, UN agencies, NGO consultation, etc.. The draft policy is now hosted in the public domain for comments and inputs. This is perhaps first time in the World that such type of policy is coming up. To receive wider inputs on the Draft State Girl Child Policy , we are putting it on the blogspot for your valuable feedback. We may find out what can be done by individuals, and other institutions”.
